外贸业务谈判进程:Amicable Settlement 友好结案

Smith: I'm sorry that you are not prepared to consider our request for compensation, although the amount of this claim is very small. However, let it go at that. We have had excellent business relations with your corporation for quite a long time and our main object in bringing this matter to your notice is to call your attention to the execution of our future orders.
L: We appreciate your good intention and we can assure you that your future orders will be executed with our utmost care and attention.

史:虽然索赔金额很小,但你方不准备考虑我方的索赔要求,对此我感到遗憾。既然如此,那就由它去吧!长期来,我方与你公司有着极好的业务关系,我向你提起这件事的主要目的是要引起你分注意,以后执行我方订单时,应多加小心。
李:感谢你方的好意,我方能向你方保证,今后执行你方订单时,我方一定密切注意。

S: To avoid future unpleasantness on the question of shortage, may we suggest that that you sell the cotton waste on landed weight instead of shipping weight?
L: Mr. Smith, it is our principle to sell our cotton waste on shipping weight, and al our buyers abroad have unhesitatingly accepted our terms. Such being the case, we regret that we cannot consider your suggestion.

史:为了避免以后在短重问题上发生不愉快的事情,我们建议你方出售废棉要以到岸重量而不是以装船重量为依据,成吗?
李:史密斯先生,装船重量是我们出售皮棉依据的原则,国外客户都毫不犹豫地接受我们的条款。由于这个原因,我们歉难考虑你方建议。

S: I understand. In view of our longstanding friendly relationship, I'll write to our home office to waive our claim. But I do hope you'll grant us some privileges in our future orders so as to offset our loss caused by the short weight.
L: we're old business friends and we want to make your business pay. If you'll let us know your specific requirements, we'll try our utmost to make you some special offers.

史:我明白。鉴于我们间长期的友好关系,我就写信给我们总公司提出放弃索赔。但是我真的希望今后对我方订单你们给予多多照顾,以弥补我们这次短重的损失。
李:我们是业务者相识了,很想使你方的业务有利可图。如果你方愿告知我具体需要,我方将尽量开报特惠报价。

S: At present we're interested in your Bleached Cotton Waste, Type 33 and Type 35. Could you make us firm offers on these two grades with shipment as early as possible?
L: Mr. Smith, these two grades are very much in demand at present and the market shows an upward trend, but as you are one of our old clients, we are prepared to offer you, as a special favour, 100 tons each at the same prices and terms as before.

史:现在我们有意购买你们第 33号及第 35号漂白废棉。你方能否开报这两种等级的实盘呢?装期越早越好。
李:史密斯先生,这两种等级目前需求甚殷,行市看涨,但你方既是老客户,为了特殊照顾,我们准备开报每一等级各100吨,价格和条件和以往一样。

S: Thank you. I accept 100tons each of Type 33 and Type 35. How soon can you effect shipment?
L: Within two months after receipt of your L/C.

史:33号及35号各1O0吨。你们最快在什么时候能装运?
李:收到信用证后两个月。

S: As we are in urgent need of these two grades, could you manage to hasten the delivery?
L: Let me see. The fact is that we are heavily committed for the next few months; we'll do our best to advance the shipment of your present order. What about 50days after receiving your credit? This is the best we can do for you.
史:我们现在急需这两个等级,能否加快装运?
李:让我想一想。事实上,以后几个月的货都已订满了,但为了满足你方急需,我方将尽量提前装运。接到你信用证后五十天左右装运,怎么样?这是最快的了。

S: That is satisfactory. Thank you for your co-operation. I'll come again when the contract is ready to be signed,
L: Very well. We'll be waiting for you day after tomorrow, around 10 o'clock.

史:那很好。谢谢你方的合作。合约备妥签字时,我再来。
李:好。后天上午十点左右我们等候你。

S: Right. Good-by, and thank you again.
L: See you again, Mr. Smith.

史:行。再次感谢你,再见。
